The North Carolina State Ports Authority handled a record 34,200 twenty-foot equivalent container units (TEUs) in October, driven by agricultural pork, sweet potato, and poultry exports to Europe and Latin America.

The milestone follows the completion of Wilmington’s second 1,200-foot container berth and upgraded post-Panamax gantry cranes, allowing two supersized cargo vessels to dock simultaneously for the first time.
