But so many other continuations, which are currently in work, sneak into production with little or no trara. So fans of the Shrek movies should have probably already got the booted Kater 2 for a long time. Plant die Zeichentrick-Katze noch ein Comeback?
Shrek gave his own Spinoff-Film to Antonio Banderas’ gestiefelten Kater
The audience encountered the booted cat spoken of by Antonio Banderas in Shrek 2. The actor thus obviously followed his two films as Zorro in the cartoon series. However the character became the breakthrough star of Shrek 2. And then he returned for the next two Shrek film sequels. Then, in 2011, Banderas eventually took his character for the Prequeque 2. Then he returned for the next two Shrek film sequels.
The film – with Salma Hayek and Zach Galifianakis in the lead roles – became a major hit. The booted cat became the third most profitable fully animated film of the year with a worldwide recording result of 555 million dollars. Only Kung Fu Panda 2 and Cars 2 played more at the box offices. And the production of a sequel was announced shortly afterwards. Why did the fans play more at the box offices?
So why was “Der gestiefelte Kater 2” simply not released yet?
In 2014, Dreamworks gave the continuation an official title, “Der gestiefelte Kater 2: Neun Leben und 40 Diebe” and a release date for 2018. However the project was moved backwards due to changes behind the scenes at Dreamworks Animation. The company has released 16 films since the release of Puss in Boots. These include Kung Fu Panda 3, two Kung Fu Panda 3, two.
The Adventures of Puss in Boots cartoon series by Dreamworks has kept the character alive on Netflix. The series lasted for almost 80 episodes, beginning in 2015 and ending in 2018. Eventually, in 2019, Deadline announced that Bob Persichetti signed for the direction of the long-awaited continuation. Persichetti was previously Head of Story for “Puss in Boots” and co-director of “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”
Fans will soon receive more tangible news about the “Shrek” spinoff.
Though it has since been quiet about official news about “Puss in Boots” fans have reason to hope. At the end of 2020, Dreamworks let the name “Puss in Boots” be protected: The Last Wish, which presumably reveals the title of the continuation. Of course, it is not known if this is the final title or only one that is considered for development. Either way, it is a gu gu.
And it appears to be a good time for Dreamworks to enter Shrek’s universe again. Finally, the company is reportedly preparing an early revival of the franchise. The booted Kater 2 may be a perfect way to abduct the audience back into more adventures playing in the series’ traditional fairy-tale world. In addition, Dreamworks has the money to get the gesture back.
